Ingredients

For the cruffins
  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets thawed according to package directions
  • 1 can (15 oz) peach pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar optional, for extra sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
For the glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk or heavy cream

Method

Prepare and bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Generously grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unroll the puff pastry sheets. Gently roll them out with a rolling pin to smooth any creases and create an even rectangle.
  3. Spread the peach pie filling evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the filling, if using.
  4. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into 2-inch-wide strips. Take each strip and roll it up into a loose spiral—don't make it too tight or the filling may squeeze out.
  5. Give each spiral a slight twist and place it into a prepared muffin cup, spiral side up.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with the water to make an egg wash. Brush this mixture over the tops of the cruffins.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cruffins are puffed and golden brown. Let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. While the cruffins are still warm, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the tops and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, substitute the peach pie filling with homemade peach compote. Store leftover cruffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Make the glaze just before serving to keep it from soaking in. Avoid overfilling the pastry or rolling too tightly to prevent the filling from leaking. These are best enjoyed warm, so reheat briefly in a 300°F oven if needed.
